03 / Watch me muddle my way through
I sit down with 'Who's Flying The Plane' to chat about my career so far.
The very patient Alex, from Who’s Flying The Plane, sat down with me earlier this year to ask about early sparks of creativity in my life and what I was up to currently. You can watch (below) as I muddle through meandering thoughts and memories about my career so far.
I touch on some early projects, noting a few points of entry into working at a larger scale. A big nod of thanks to my friend and fellow artist Abs Jamel, who encouraged me to draw with Posca pens and collaborated with me on a very early mural piece for the BBC.
I make mention of two big influences on my work - that of mid-century illustrator Jim Flora and current screen-printing legend JooHee Yoon.
And, you get a peek into my sketchbook and some behind-the-scenes footage from my Dolphin House project for the NHS, which I’ve recently added to my portfolio. I’ve also included a few images below.
I’d love to hear about the things that influence your creative life. Please let me know in the comments.
