Working in a different medium and future predictions
Dipping my toe into creating jewellery & illustrating The Major Arcana.
I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’ve two diary dates for those of you in or near to Bristol that I would LOVE to see you at. Details below…
Silver & Steel jewellery launch
The wonderful team at south Bristol’s independent jewellery studio: Silver & Steel invited a small group of creatives to create their own bespoke silver pieces. Under their guidance I’ve hand-crafted two of my own. I’ll be sharing more about the experience of working in an entirely new medium over on my Instagram - as well as in a future newsletter.
Please come to the launch on Thursday 16th October, from 7pm at Silver & Steel Studio, 74 East St, Bedminster, Bristol BS3 4EY.
Further details and links to the other artists involved here.
If you can’t make it to Bristol, but are interested in buying my creations, then please look out for future posts on my Instagram about the pieces.
Major Arcana exhibition
Illustrator Vanessa Lovegrove is curating an exhibition featuring 22 illustrators each illustrating one of the cards from The Major Arcana. All the artworks are being created specifically for the show and they will also be produced as a complete Tarot deck, available to purchase. Please follow along here for further news about this.
And, you are invited to the opening at Centrespace Gallery: 13th November, from 7pm. The show runs 14th - 19th November.
‘Butterfly’ now available in my shop
I’ve put the remaining ‘Butterfly’ screenprints up in my online shop. Screen printed by ‘Studio All Day Long’ on Southbank Smooth 250gsm paper, this is a limited edition of 20. The artwork layers were hand-created by myself - no digital process involved at all - using paint and scraping tools on toughened glass, which was then exposed onto screens, ready for printing. You can watch my creative process here.
Thank you for all your support this year. It’s been a tough one (not gonna lie!) but having you along for the journey means a lot. I’ve more exciting news around the corner, but I’ll save that for the next newsletter.
